This includes retail buildings, office buildings, mixed-use developments, industrial parks, warehouses, schools, churches, hospitals, surgical theatres, clinics, dialysis centres, neonatal units, doctor’s rooms, high-rise buildings, basements, dormitories, commercial kitchens, sports stadia, hotels, casinos, guest houses, houses and housing developments, roads, stormwater, purification plants, water infrastructure, car dealerships, filling stations, taxi ranks, restaurants, feed mills and public swimming pools.

It is the inspection of a building/structure for mainly the safety thereof and its inhabitants. The level of inspection ranges from visual inspection and reporting to full analyses with possible testing of materials depending on the complexity of the building/structure and/or severity of damage caused. This is typically performed by one of our professional registered structural engineers.

Yes, changes in scope are easily and readily accommodated in the early stages of design. Because MDCC has in-house multidisciplinary teams, changes by the client are rapidly and gladly accommodated at this stage. As long as it’s not built it remains easy to change, the old adage holds that paper is patient. It is also possible to accommodate changes during the construction phase of a project.

The professional contracts consist of the PROCSA, CESA or SACAP industry standard contracts for the relevant appointment.

Yes, we carry sufficient PI Insurance to twice the professional fees on the specific project

Yes, generally new designs cater for the additional loads imposed by solar panels. On older buildings we can assist with inspections of the structure to determine if solar panels can be added. Should the roof not have sufficient strength, we can offer the client various alternatives to strengthen the existing structure for their intended purpose.
